Holiday or Long Term Car Hire Murcia

The city of Murcia, Spain offers you the opportunity to explore a very dramatic part of this country. However in order to do so it is advisable to arrange Murcia car hire when you are arranging your accommodation and flights. If you don’t then the chances of you getting a great deal on your rental is greatly reduced.

However, when you do have your car hire arranged and on arrival at Murcia Airport which is situated a short distance from the city itself you have the opportunity to enjoy everything that this part of the Spanish coastline has to offer. There are over 200 beaches which you can spend time relaxing on if you wish. Yet if you would prefer to do something a little more exciting then there are numerous other activities you can enjoy.

But before you do head off to explore other parts of the region of Murcia, why not spend time exploring all that the city itself has to offer. Below we take a look at just what some of these attractions are.

1. Cathedral de Santa Maria – This is to be found situated in the Plaza de Cardinal Belluga. Once you arrive here you have an option how to enter the building as there are several different entrances that can be used. The main entrance is Puerta del Perdon, however there are other doors you can use including the Portada de las Cadenas and the Portada de los Apostoles. The last of these immediately brings you into the Capilla Mayor. This is extremely impressive as the area has been decorated with lots of gold.

2. Museo Arqueologico (Archaeological Museum) – Situated to the north of Plaza de Santo Domingo is this particular attraction. Here you have the opportunity to learn more about the area’s history from prehistoric times to when the Greeks, Romans and Iberians chose to make this city their home. Along with numerous antiquities relating to the city’s history there is a large collection of pottery dating throughout the centuries including some fine examples of Moorish ware. Be aware that this attraction although open throughout the year it isn’t open on a Saturday or Sunday during the months of July and August.

After exploring all that the city of Murcia has to offer including its great shops and restaurants then of course now is the time to travel further afield. As already mentioned the best way of reaching other wonderful tourist destinations in this part of Spain is through arranging Murcia car rental.
